WAM: the UAE mobilises the diplomatic community ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference

Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ second diplomatic briefing at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi, where H.E. Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, updated ambassadors and international organisations on preparations, the programme and how to take part.

The report notes that 180 representatives attended, up from more than 150 at the first briefing in May. It sets out the Conference’s three themed days, the six Interactive Dialogues in the Blue Zone and the UAE-hosted Oasis, which is open to all and will host pavilions for countries, companies and international organisations.

WAM quotes H.E. Balalaa calling for the Conference to be “a turning point”, and the UAE invites Member States to come to Abu Dhabi and engage through the Oasis.
