Media Accreditation
Apply in advance to cover the Conference in Abu Dhabi. Journalists, photographers, videographers, and broadcast teams must apply in advance to cover the 2026 UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi.
How it works
Once you have registered for the Green Zone, you also need a media permit from the UAE's National Media Authority.
1. Register for the Green Zone
Register for the Green Zone first, selecting Media as your organisation type.
2. Apply for your media permit
Once your registration is confirmed, apply for your permit through the National Media Authority before you travel. Airport clearance is straightforward when approvals are secured in advance.

Media access to the Conference's Blue Zone requires UN approval. More information is available at un.org.

Temporary foreign correspondent card
Journalists arriving to cover the Conference may apply for a Temporary Foreign Correspondent Card, the UAE government's accreditation for international journalists, issued by the National Media Authority.
- Application process: register in the National Media Authority system as an individual, then apply for the Foreign Correspondents service.
- Required documents: a personal photo, a passport copy, and a request letter from the employer (the media outlet).
- Processing time: 2 weeks.
- Validity: valid for one month, renewable.
Bringing filming equipment
All equipment permits are handled by the National Media Authority. Apply and secure approval before making travel arrangements.
- How to apply: submit a request through the National Media Authority online system.
- Required documents: a customs declaration, a request letter from the requesting entity, and the equipment supervisor's details (personal photo and passport copy).
- Processing time: up to 1 week.
